Sinai desert, once again shaken by saber rattling part 1
Around August 8 2012 media cabledout news across the world, a terrorist attack occurred against an Egyptian police outpost. The first reports spoke of a globalized jihad group based in Gaza.
16 Egyptian border police killed and two armored vehicles were conquered and then make the attack agains Israel near the Israeli border crossing at Kerem Shalom.
The first vehicle was blown up by itself before the border and the other was knocked out by the IDF Air Force within the D-zone.
After that, shootings occurred between El Arish and Rafah and the news also said that MFO came under fire in central Sinai (MFO has denied the incident, onley stated that they heard the gunfire).
Lawlessness and terror attacks by criminals, political/religious groups, or...??
Some sources say that the outbreak of terrorist attacks increased after the overthrow of Housni Mobarak due to the fact that the Sinai desert is a demilitarized zone (since the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel in 1979).
So who rustles with whom and for what purpose, what is true or false in this part of the world?
Everything is possible, even if the objects that justifies the means for a Westerner can seem impossible to understand.
Westerners surely could say that everything that happens in the Middle East depends on the situation of the Palestinians. But is that really the case or are the Palestinians a victim, a brick in another game? who is who and what is the main goal or objectives.
By the way, how do you define Palestine and Palestinians?
I begin by describing Sinai, this historically and ancient desert peninsula that forms the boundary between Africa and Asia and then I will try to sort out some "facts" based on 17 visits to the Middle East and North Africa between 1974-2010.but also the consequences of what happens in this area.
End part one.
